Supporting Asperger Families in Essex

SAFE North Members Liz Rhodes, Paula Muir, Ann-Marie Stephens and Nikki Kendall from the SAFE North committee met with Carmel Littleton, Head of Special Educational Needs & Pupil Support Services, Alison Stanford and Leslie Ann Brooking at County Hall, Chelmsford. Also in attendance were the Children’s Legal Centre and Network 81. Our intention was to raise the continuing problems that our children are experiencing in education and our concerns were listened to. Unfortunately it is a very slow process to change the Local Authority way of thinking but we are determined to do it. This is what we hope to be the first of many meetings and hopefully we will make a difference!
